Madeira Film Festival is non competitive. Rather than giving filmmakers a prize each delegate receives the ‘Laurissilva Ambassador’ award in recognition of their hard work and also as a measure to help create awareness of Madeira’s endemic Laurissilva forest. 

This international Festival, created to showcase good quality independent film from around the world, provides the public films, short films and the presence of directors and producers, workshops, concerts, fashion shows and discussion panels accompanied by Madeira Wine every afternoon at 5p.m. outside the theatre.
